What’s New at The Highlands for Summer 2023

As the Memorial Day holiday weekend approaches, The Highlands in Harbor Springs, Mich., is gearing up for another great summer!  Here’s a look at highlights for the summer 2023 season:

New Trail & Youth Bike Free on Thursdays
The Highlands Bike Park opens for the season on May 27, and with 22 miles of natural terrain and lift-served mountain biking, this Park ranks top in the state.  It’s suitable for all levels of riders, and that includes kids!  This summer from June 22 through August 31, kids ages 12 and younger, bike for free with an adult on Thursdays and can also swing into the Slopeside Lounge for a free Orange Crush.  A new trail opens this summer, Swayze Express, featuring large jumps, turns, rollers, and more on North Peak.  Kicking off the season, a First Ride Party is planned for opening day from noon to 3 p.m. offering music, food specials, a Boyne Country Sports pop-up store, giveaways, and the official launch of The Highlands’ own Heather beer, a Petoskey Brewing collaboration.  For more information about The Highlands Bike Park, or to buy season passes, daily tickets or ticket packs, visit highlandsharborsprings.com/bike.

Introducing The Heather Beer
The Highlands is unveiling its own brew, The Heather, to guests of the resort this summer.  A wheat ale crafted in collaboration with locally based Petoskey Brewery, located on M-119, The Heather is infused with a subtle hint of lemongrass and sweet orange peel.  The Heather is being served in each of the resort’s restaurants, as well as on all four golf courses.  The resort is also hosting several events on Memorial Day Weekend where guests can enjoy specials on The Heather beer, food features, and live music.  For more details on resort happenings, visit highlandsharborsprings.com.

The Young Americans Dinner Theatre Celebrates 45 Years
As the second longest-running dinner theatre in the country, The Young Americans Dinner Theatre is celebrating 45 years of entertaining legions of guests at The Highlands.  With a cast of bright, young, performers handpicked from around the country, The Young Americans Dinner Theatre is a staple in northern Michigan combining energetic Broadway-style performances with a three-course dinner.  This year’s show is directed by the multi-talented Rod Burton and is a tribute to Stephen Sondheim, a renowned composer and lyricist known for his sophisticated and complex work in reinventing the American musical.  Show dates run June 24 through August 26.  The dinner theatre is family-friendly experience, and this year, a new lower priced children’s ticket is available to ages 12 and under for $39.   For more information or to purchase tickets, visit highlandsharborsprings.com.

New Aonach Mor Twilight Dinner Series
The Highlands is unveiling a unique new dinner series this summer, the Aonach Mor Twilight Dinner.  Guests can surround themselves in the beauty of northern Michigan’s pristine natural surroundings atop North Peak relishing the long summer nights.  Each dinner event takes place outdoors on the mountain’s top and is available on select dates in June, July, and August.  The evening features a chef crafted menu that celebrates the finest local ingredients, ensuring a unique culinary experience.  Breathtaking views, warm summer breezes, and northern Michigan summer vibes are sure to make this experience a night to remember. Spring and Summer Lodging Offers:
